Marc McAndrews is curious about people.
His award-winning photographs have focused on a varied and wide range of personal projects: long stay motel owners, JROTC programs, newscasters in small television markets, Death Match Wrestlers and his critically acclaimed book, “Nevada Rose” which captured the personalities and places of Nevada’s legal brothels.
Marc's work has been seen in the New York Times, CNN, Slate, The Paris Review, Interview Magazine, Daylight Magazine, D Magazine and many others. Clients have included The New Republic, Time, Stern, Inc., Fortune Small Business, Discovery Channel, Open Society Foundation, the Embassy of Liechtenstein and the United Nations Global Compact
Marc was a recipient of the Magenta Art Foundation’s 2006 “Flash Forward” award and his work has been selected for American Photography 23, 28, 31 and 33 and PDN’s Photo Annual. “Nevada Rose” received a much coveted starred review from Publisher’s Weekly, was nominated for the 2009 NY Photo Awards and was an official selection for the 2009 and 2011 Lucie Awards as was his “JROTC” series.
He's lectured at the School of Visual Arts, The New School, Sarah Lawrence College, New York’s International Center for Photography, Rutgers University, The Museum of Sex and many other places
